In Loving Memory of Shirlee Louise Heidler
September 24, 1943 – December 11, 2023
We fondly remember Shirlee Louise Heidler (nee Richter), who was born in El Centro, California, on September 24, 1943, and passed away on December 11, 2023. Shirlee, known for her infectious laughter, radiant smile, and boundless energy, left an unforgettable impression on everyone she met.
Raised on a farm, Shirlee's early life was filled with the simple pleasures of rural living, which shaped her into a woman of strength and resilience. Her life was filled with happiness, love, and a remarkable spirit. She brought joy and light wherever she went, touching lives with her warmth and genuine care.
Shirlee’s life was a radiant reflection of a woman's beauty and love with an indomitable spirit. With charm and elegance reminiscent of Jackie Onassis, she carried herself with a grace that complemented her vibrant personality. Her laughter lit up rooms, her smile warmed hearts, and her energy inspired everyone around her.
Shirlee was a woman of grace and strength, facing life’s challenges with optimism and always finding happiness in even the smallest things. She is lovingly remembered by her four children, Jeff (Liz), Hayley (Steve), KC, and Doug, and her seven cherished grandchildren, Austin (Ian), Hayden, Tyson, Leah, Kiran, Drake, and Vaughn. Her joyful approach to life and her kind and caring nature will continue to inspire all who knew her.
“Rest in peace, beloved Shirlee. Your memory will forever be a beacon of hope and joy in our lives.”
George Heidler and the enduring spirit of his wife Shirlee, honor their lifelong commitment to empowering youth through education. The couple's profound passion for the automotive industry led them to help establish High School Inc. at Valley High School in Santa Ana, California. This program, a heartening blend of George and Shirlee's vision, has been a pivotal force in guiding high school students towards fulfilling careers as automotive technicians.
Their dedication extended through the redevelopment of the CNCDA (California New Car Dealer Association) Foundation by their son, KC. This foundation broadens the horizon of opportunities, offering scholarships and apprenticeship programs to students from High School Inc. and other high schools across California.
In memory of Shirlee, those wishing to continue her legacy of support can contribute to High School Inc. and The CNCDA Foundation. These donations will help sustain the vision and opportunities for aspiring technicians that Shirlee so deeply valued.
CNCDA Foundation is extremely grateful that the Heidler Family is honoring the memory of Shirlee and George Heidler by supporting the CNCDA Foundation and its impacts on California’s youth.
